Boxwich acid attack: Victim posts photo of injured face from hospital bed hours after men targeted him

The presumed corrosive assault on Mike Glover-Johnson occurred on the High Street in Bloxwich close Walsall in the West Midlands tonight 


The casualty of a presumed corrosive assault in Bloxwich is engaging for observers to approach after he was focused 'by covered men'. 

An examination has been propelled after the destructive substance was tossed Mike Glover-Johnson in the High Street in Bloxwich at around 6.50pm on Sunday. 

The 46-year-old was hurried to doctor's facility with wounds to his face because of the speculated assault. 

He was sitting in his stopped auto outside the takeaway Chunky Grill on High Street when a man pulled the driver's entryway open and let him know not to move. 

He thought he was being ransacked before the substance was tossed in his face. 

The guilty party fled before bouncing in an auto following the apparently arbitrary assault. 

Mr Glover-Johnson posted on Facebook: "Any observers to me being haphazardly assaulted with corrosive on Bloxwich High Street tonight please contact police. 

"Gratefully individuals helped and their speedy responses may have ceased changeless scarring." 

Mr Glover-Johnson included: "Ideally whoever did this gets captured." 

His better half Lee, 41, disclosed to MirrorOnline that he was inside the nourishment outlet when his accomplice came in shouting. 


It isn't recognized what the substance was, however Lee said police let him know there was a "solid smell" of corrosive in the auto where the assault occurred. 


"We got as much water as we could all over. 

"The specialist said there shouldn't be any enduring harm, that was something Mike was extremely stressed over, he figured he may lose his sight." 

Lee said police had proposed it might have been a homophobic assault, however he wasn't persuaded. 

"Except if it's somebody who knows us I can't see that being the situation," he said. 

Witnesses revealed to MirrorOnline they saw Mr Johnson - who police poured water on - prior running past an auto shouting. 

Staff at adjacent Chunky Grill revealed to MirrorOnline they endeavored to encourage him. 

The poor bloke looked so frightened sitting tight for the emergency vehicle. 

A West Midlands Police representative stated: "Police are researching an occurrence in which a destructive substance was tossed at a man on High Street in Bloxwich tonight. 

"The man, who is in his 40s, was sitting in his auto at around 6.50pm when he felt something tossed in his face. 

"He has been taken to doctor's facility with wounds to his face. 

"The examination is at a beginning period, the rationale is obscure and police are keeping a receptive outlook. 

"Various enquiries are in progress including a CCTV trawl, officers are additionally attempting to recognize what the substance was. 

"Police are speaking to any individual who saw anything or who may have data to contact West Midlands Police on 101 citing log number 2177 30/9" 

West Midlands Fire Service affirmed that they went to the scene in the wake of accepting a call from police at around 7.15pm. 

Officers are encouraging anybody with data to connect by means of 101.
